E. HESS was an instrument maker (accordions, brass and stringed instruments) based in Klingenthal, Germany since 1872.
After his death, his family continued to make instruments under the name Hess Musiek Nach.
This excellent quality model, reminiscent of Schonbach’s great Germans, was made during E Hess’s lifetime, around 1930, possibly earlier.

Solid spruce top, maple back and sides
Molded back, non-original (old) tuners.

very sonorous, its sounds clear, warm, currently: 009 electric strings, could sound even better with flatwound jazz strings.
To listen to the sound :

It has bumps and signs of wear, which gives it its’ old ‘-‘ relic ‘style, the neck (‘reversal’ has been restored by a professional luthier, but is in good condition considering its age – perfectly functional , low action.
