Spanish BANDURRIA (LAUD) GARRIDO 12 strings
Made in Madrid, probably in the 50s and 60s
Favourite instrument of South American orchestras (seen in ‘Bueno vista social club’ by Wim Wenders, or Spanish orchestra…)
From the mandolin family, but with a more rounded ‘onion body’ shape, flat body and 12 strings, classical tuning : A E B F# C# G# ,
can also be tuned in unison like a guitar and played like a 12-string guitar.
All solid wood, Spanish-style construction, identical to period Spanish guitars:
Spruce top
Walnut back and sides
