Description
Gypsy/Folk sicilian guitar, Probably Ermelinda SILVESTRI
Made in Sicily near 1920-1930 – recognizable by its Art Deco-style marquetry (floral decoration around the mahogany/walnut/maple bridge) and rosette decoration.
No more interior label.
Made entirely of solid wood:
solid spruce top
Solid maple back and sides
Solid maple neck
brass machine heads
New bronze strings (gypsy strings would give an even better sound)
Refretted fingerboard.
New bone nut.
nut width: 48mm
Long scale” model: 700mm pitch (Manouches usually have a 650mm pitch),
Selmer-style headstock and curved back.
Very fine, balanced, full sound
Traces of wear and minor dents, giving it its “antique” (sought-after) look, but in good condition considering its age.
Straight neck, easy to play, tuned by my luthier.
A vintage “great Gipsy” for professionals and collectors.
Secure home shipping all over the world.
